1) Tile 10 issue fixed

  • The Hill Region on Tile 10 was reading as a Hill with Ground Cover. This is not correct and the Tile has been fixed to just read a Hill Region with no cover.

MECHANICS
1) The save game issues have been fixed. You can save or auto-save the game on all devices. Loaded saved games work as intended.

  • Auto Save happens at the start of each player’s turn, so that there might be a bit of a delay before the game recognizes any input. Certain items like, the number of Golems in the game, the number of effects happening and the size of the map, may impact the delay. If this is an issue turn off the Auto-Save function and save when you prefer.

2) Charging and Displacement have been fixed.

  • A Golem charging and either missing the attack or not displacing the Target on a successful attack will move to an adjacent Region as we always intended.
  • A Golem will NOT receive Cooldown to its Movement, if the Golem is unable to displace the Target and does not move from its original Region (i.e. if the Attacker’s origin Region is an adjacent Region to the Target.)

3) Passives now work as intended.

  • Their powers move with the Golem/Knight as they should and leave the board when the Golem is eliminated.

4) AOE displacement abilities are working as intended.

5) Powers triggering in Medium Cover will also now trigger in Deeps, unless specifically stated otherwise.

GOLEMS

Valkali

  • “Mask of Tranquility” correctly reduces Cooldown on hit even if Valkali is unable to move.

Winged Vanguard

  • “Lightning Blast” correctly targets Enemies only.

KNIGHTS

Agnyarcis Fael

  • “Ramming Speed” description has been clarified to indicate its Displacement is restricted by Golem class.
  • “Ramming Speed” should only push on the next successful attack after a move.

Zitala the Arcanist

  • “Reckless Wrath” is now classified as a Knight power and not a Golem power.

Sarasvati Krama and Yantra Zataghni

  • “Close Combat” Range attacks now can be used as both a normal Melee attack as well as used in charge as per normal melee attacks.

Gray Harridan

  • “Mana Feint” now correctly causes this Knight’s Golem’s next attack to do 0 Base Damage. For each Enemy target hit, Harridan’s Golem will heal for half the attack’s Base Damage, and gains the other half in Mana for its Army.

RELICS

Chalice of Mists

  • Will correctly move the affected Golem an additional random Region at the end of each and every movement, Walk or Fly, for the full 3 Rounds of its duration.

Gauntlet of Jitakazi

  • Will randomly displace all Golems in Region regardless if they are hit, as per description.

Idol of Pravega

  • Correctly adds 4 MP to both Walk and Fly movement types.

Nihata Laurel

  • Will correctly apply penalty to all movement types.

Orichalcum Mirror

  • Now correctly does 0 Base Damage on the activating Golem’s next attack and its army will gain half the Base Damage of the attack in Mana for each Enemy target hit.

ANCIENT ONES
The Water-Bringer

  • “Revitalize” Blessing now only works on allied Golems.
  • “The Cost of Sin” Curse will no longer persist on an Enemy Golem that moves out of the affected Region.

The Deceiver

  • “Cruel Trick” Curse now heals as indicated.

The Hopeful

  • “Graceful Spirit” no longer stacks or moves with golems as they leave the Region the Blessing is in.

      • Shallows now include Ground Cover modifiers. This makes them consistant with all other map sets.

      • Nihata Laurel’s corrected APV is 45.

Fixed/Added: Updated February 11, 2015

      • Android devices no longer load to load a black screen when launching the game is fixed.
      • Hill range bonuses that would stay with Golems, even after they left an Elevated Region, for the entire game is fixed.
      • Sylus NOT connecting after switching to airplane mode is fixed. There are two solutions.

Solution 1 – Hold Power button for 2 seconds. While holding the power button press the Confirm and Page button continue holding all three buttons for 10 seconds.

Solution 2 – Hold the Power button – after the light turns red, continue to hold the Power button for 10 seconds

      • Constructs were currently being treated as Golems and blocked Enemy Armies from gaining Victory Points or awarding Victory Points if constructed in Control Zones. This issue is fixed.

Rules Clarifications / FAQs (Updated 11/20/2015)

The following is an on-going list of various, rules clarifications or frequently asked questisons about Golem Arcana. This list is compiled so that all the data about each type of game element can be found in alphabetical order. The newest items are underlined. Updated 11/20/2015

ANCIENT ONES

  • Ancient Ones CANNOT place Blessings or Curses in Water Regions – thus, here are some areas on the map that are protected from supernatural interference. This is BY DESIGN and not a bug.

GOLEMS

Carapace Brute (Urugal)

  • Retaliation
      When looking at the “More Info” screen of these Golems, the special bonuses from these two attack are NOT attributed correctly as “Retaliation” or “Vengeant Riposte”. Instead, the name of each Golem’s “Passive” ability is given credit (“Shatterheart” and “Raider”). This is a known issue, but not likely to change, because in order for the bonus to be displayed correctly, it’s effects were ‘attached’ to the passive ability.

Charred Fencer (Dominion, Urugal)

  • Vengeant Riposte
      When looking at the “More Info” screen of these Golems, the special bonuses from these two attack are NOT attributed correctly as “Retaliation” or “Vengeant Riposte”. Instead, the name of each Golem’s “Passive” ability is given credit (“Shatterheart” and “Raider”). This is a known issue, but not likely to change, because in order for the bonus to be displayed correctly, it’s effects were ‘attached’ to the passive ability.

Jade Thornbeast (Empire, Zikia)

  • “Emboldened Punch”
      When targeting an Enemy, Emboldened Punch does not properly display Bonus Damage for the number of Enemies present in the Region. It does the proper +10 Damage for each Enemy in the Region, but before the attack occurs it will only display +10 Damage no matter how many Enemies are present. After the attack is complete, the proper Damage calculation will show up in “More Info”.

Relentless Brute (Urugal)

  • “Hail of Blows”
      This attack increases Damage taken as intended. The number of Rounds it is active is correct. It will apply the damage debuff on the Target immediately on hit and the damage taken will include the debuff.

Sworn Collector (Mercenary Kings, Urugal)

  • “Swooping Frenzy”
      This Golem will displace itself before its Target is displaced to the new Region. The 10 splash Damage will occur when the Target Golem enters the new Region. If there is not enough room for the Target Golem in the Region after the Sworn Collector has moved into the new Region, the Target Golem will not be displaced and no splash Damage will occur.

Terra Naga (Gudanna)

  • “Scattering Sirocco”
      Once the attack roll has been completed, this attack will apply Final Damage to all Targets hit. Then each Target hit by the attack will be checked, one at a time, for displacement. If the Target can be displaced, the Target Golem will be moved one random Region. Next, the app will check to see if the Naga wants to self-displace one Region. The Naga will get this option for each Target hit, regardless of whether or not the Target can be displaced. This process will repeat until all hit Targets have been checked for displacement and the Naga has been given the option to self-displace for each Target that was hit by the attack.

Valkali (Gudanna)

  • “Mask of Desertion”
      This attack increases Damage taken as intended. The number of Rounds it is is active is correct. It will apply the damage bonus on the Target immediately on hit and the damage taken will include the bonus.
  • “Mask of Burden”
      An ally and an enemy both receive the same length of benefit and same total damage.
      This effect acts a bit differently when cast on an ally. Since the ally can use the bonus immediately, the bonus effects will last the “casting” Round and the next Round (total of 2 rounds). However, since the Damage Over Time effect only triggers at the start of the player’s turn, it’s clock doesn’t start until the next Round, thus it will continue one Round after the beneficial effects have ended (still only 2 Rounds).

KNIGHTS

Gray Harridan

  • “Mana Feint”
      This Knight’s ability correctly sets Base Damage to 0 on its Golem’s next attack. However, only Enemy targets will be produce a benefit when hit. For each Enemy hit, Harridan’s Golem will heal for half the attack’s Base Damage, and gains the other half in Mana for its Arm
      This ability only impacts an attack’s Base Damage. Any other special effects will be unaffected.

RELICS

  • A Construct will award Mana equal to 20% its APV to the deploying army upon its destruction, unless otherwise specified by the scenario.
  • In scenarios in which VP are awarded for Golem Destruction, Constructs will award 1 VP to an Enemy army when destroyed by that Enemy.

Orichalcum Mirror

  • Now correctly does 0 Base Damage on the activating Golem’s next attack and its army will gain half the Base Damage of the attack in Mana for each Enemy target hit.
  • This Relic only impacts an attack’s Base Damage. Any other special effects will be unaffected.

The Tree of Life

  • In order to use the Healing Power of The Tree of Life, tap the card and then a region to use the ability. Do not tap a golem in the region.

USER INTERFACE

    1.  To get the best printed images using Banner Creator, you should e-mail the banner file to yourself and print the banners from a computer. That will help to create correctly sized banners. Printing straight from a cell phone or tablet at the current time is not recommended.

Known Issues (Updated 11/20/2015)

Known Issues are issues that we are in the process of fixing and testing. They are here to let the player’s of Golem Arcana know what we know isn’t working.

All of the following are being actively investigated and worked on, and a future code-update will address them.

System and Global Game Issues

  • When loading a game and the account that is signed in is NOT playing.
    • We have identified an issue causing the app to hang on the “Loading” screen if one of the armies chosen in any given scenario is not registered to the same account as the one currently logged into the Golem Arcana app. While we work on a fix for this issue, players will need to make sure that the account logged into the Golem Arcana app is attached to at least one of the armies being deployed in any given scenario.
  • App “Lagging” at the Start of a player’s turn
    • Some devices are unresponsive or sluggish while performing calculations in a scenario. We’re actively investigating and working on a solution. In some cases, this can be improved by closing other apps running in the background on the device or by turning off the AutoSave feature.
  • Sylus Unable to Change Name or PIN
    • Currently the Sylus Manager page will not allow for you to change the name or PIN of a Stlus. In some cases you might find the actual “button” offset formt he image, but that is not a constant.
  • Samsung Device and Bluetooth Paring
    • Reports indicate that certain Samsung devices are not correctly syncing the Bluetooth with the stylus. We are compiling a list of those specific devices. We’re actively investigating and working on a solution.
  • DOT Damage Not Awarding Victory Points Correctly
    • Golems being destroyed by DOTs are not awarding the correct Victrory Points in scenarios.
  • Displacement and Impassable Terrain
    • We have identified an issue with abilities that generate 2+ Regions of Chosen Displacement and how they interact with Impassable Terrain. These abilities were circumventing the intended properties of Impassable Terrain and compromising the balance of some scenarios on some map layouts. While we investigate a solution, we have altered all abilities that allowed for 2+ Regions of Chosen Displacement and made them Random.
    • Affected abilities include:
      • Ashmogh “Cast Down,”
      • Charred Demon “Scarring Whip,”
      • Jade Harpy “Jade Gust,”
      • Jagara “Throw,”
      • The Heart of Nadi

GOLEMS

Golems are listed in alphabetical order after some general notes.

  • Blazing Dervish
    • “Blade Dance” does not ignore 5 Armor on initial attack. Initial calculation shows that the attack will ignore 5 Armor, but the actual Damage does not ignore any Armor.
  • Bone Fiend
    • “Foul Siphon” is incorrectly counting additional enemies as allies in games with 3 or more armies. If the Region contains targets from two or more Enemy armies, Foul Siphon will gain 25 bonus Damage against each Enemy hit.
  • Carapace Brute
    • “Shatterheart” is incorrectly triggering from self-inflicted Damage. As per description, it should only trigger “When hit.”
  • Colossi
    • Colossi are currently recovering Shut Down Knights and Abilities too easily on Healing.
    • Breakdown thresholds occur at 60/40/20% and Healing should have to raise Health over the same thresholds.
    • When a Colossus enters an Obstructed Region, it is incorrectly losing an additional 2 AP after the movement is complete.
    • Special Effects that cause a Golem to take Damage when attacking, like Punishment and the Ossetic Parasite, are causing Colossi to take the Damage at the start of their Turn in addition to any successful attacks they make.
  • Gilded Band
    • “Gilded Protection” is not causing Enemy Golem’s attacks to Miss when they score Critical or Lucky Hits against the Gilded Golems in Open Terrain (No Cover).
  • Iron Earthfall
    • “Boulder Swing” attack has a max bonus damage of 30 instead of 40.
  • Nightshade
    • “Shifting Backstab” attack does not always Displace into the target’s Region, depending on the angle and distance of the attack.
  • Rangers of the Oath
    • When activated by a Sworn Golem, the “Zephyr of Er-Haka” Relic will remove the Sworn Golem’s “Relic Aura” Passive and the Sworn Golem will not gain 40 Health.
  • Tidal Lord
    • “Churning Sea” Damage incorrectly previews as 0 when targeting an Enemy Golem. After the attack, a Deep Dive will show the Damage calculation and Damage inflicted is accurate.
  • Vigilant Sentinel
    • “Burning Beacon” does not add 15 Damage when “Surging Hex” successfully Hits the marked Target and causes Ashmogh to inflict extra 15 Damage for 2 Rounds.

KNIGHTS

Knights are listed in alphbetical order.

  • Anpa
    • “Swarm Tactics” states “Allies sharing this Knight’s Golem’s Region will always gain 5 Damage to all of their attacks.” However, Anpa also always gains 5 Damage.
  • Azu Pidana
    • “Swarm Tactics” states “Allies sharing this Knight’s Golem’s Region will always gain 5 Damage to all of their attacks.” However, Azu Pidana also always gains 5 Damage.
  • Dhau Tazila
    • “Primal Wellspring” takes Mana from army even if Mana Well is not deployed due to incorrect Cover. Does not deploy a Mana Well in Medium Cover Deeps. Mana Well only gives Mana one Turn, but visual effect remains for two Turns.
  • Ekimmu the Merciless
    • Sometimes when “Bonecage” is deactivated after an Enemy leaves the Region. In some cases, “Bonecage” will be reactivated if this Knight’s Golem moves.
  • Ezeru
    • Sometimes when “Bonecage” is deactivated after an Enemy leaves the Region. In some cases, “Bonecage” will be reactivated if this Knight’s Golem moves.
  • Garo Bataar
    • “Lightning Rod” is becoming stuck in some rare circumstances and applying its Cooldown reduction repeatedly to the same attack.
  • Iksuda of the Deep Cavern Weald
    • An Enemy leaving the Region will cancel this Knight’s Golem’s bonus Dodge before the Duration expires.
  • Jaras Zemusi
    • “Thorn Castle” is taking Mana to activate, but produces no effect.
  • Kahga the Loon
    • “Retribution of Wings” is failing to Displace an Enemy Golem after they make a successful Melee Hit. “Weather the Storm” is taking Mana to activate, but failing to add Dodge based upon Damage this Knight’s Golem suffers.
  • Master Arahmsi
    • “Sacred Meditation” can be activated repeatedly for Mana in a single Turn. According to its description, it should not stack.
  • Minndor the Ravenous (Mercenary Kings, Urugal)
    • “Dead Luck” is not granting this Knight’s Golem’s army 10 Mana when the Ashmogh scores a Critical or Lucky Hit.
  • Suryaka
    • “Austerity’s Flame” was causing the app to freeze upon attack. While a solution is investigated, it has been disabled. It is taking Mana to activate, but produces no effect.
  • Zila Hardaya
    • “Marrow Spikes” is never doing Damage when Zila’s Golem is successfully hit in Melee.
  • Zyamala Pazin
    • Description needs to indicate 1 Round Duration. Duration is only the current Turn. Does not last through affected Enemy’s Turn.

RELICS

Relics are listed in alphbetical order.

      • Noose of Akhir
        • Activating the “Noose of Akhir” summons “The Black Gallows” Construct which should cause the following effect: “Enemy Golems leaving this Region must add 2 to their Breakaway cost.” The effect only lasts the first Round The Black Gallows arise and after that does not affect Enemy Golems.
      • Khamsin of Asvara
        • Currently doing no Damage to any Golems, Ally or Enemy, remaining in the Region where the Khamsin was used.
      • Zephyr of Er-Haka
        • When activated, the Zephyr of Er-Haka is dispelling permanent Passive effects affecting Golems. When activated by a Sworn Golem, the Zephyr of Er-Haka will remove the Sworn Golem’s “Relic Aura” Passive and the Sworn Golem will not gain 40 Health.”

ANCIENT ONES

Ancient Ones are listed in alphbetical order.

      • The Relentless
        • ““Deadly Fortification” Blessing is persisting after moving out of the Region in which it was invoked. Should only affect Allies while in the Region in which the Blessing was placed.
      • The Storm
        • “Rolling Thunder” Curse only Displaces a single Golem when invoked. It should Displace ALL Golems in the Region.

BLUETOOTH

Previously Paired Stylus not Connecting to a New Device or connecting to a Minimum Spec device

Please follow the directions below to pair the stylus, as well as turning off your Wi-Fi to boost the bluetooth signal.

    • Solution 1 – Hold Power button for 2 seconds. While holding the power button press the Confirm and Page button continue holding all three buttons for 10 seconds.
    • Solution 2 – Hold the Power button – after the light turns red, continue to hold the Power button for 10 seconds
    • Solution 3 - Open device settings and disable bluetooth completely.
      Launch Golem Arcana.
      When prompted to enable bluetooth, choose yes. Then enable bluetooth.
      Return to Golem Arcana and attempt to connect the stylus.
      In the case that these steps do not work you can try restarting your device.
      On Android, disabling Wi-Fi can reduce bluetooth error rates.

In App Text Clarification (Updated 11/4/2015)

Any text change, no matter how insignificant, also triggers the “!” icon in the Army Builder, making it look like your armies have changed. You will be prompted to update most or all of your armies when you view them.
